Our Story

Selby’s roots are firmly established in the rich soil of Komani Estate, located just outside Harare—a place where family, community, and the land have always taken precedence. The journey commenced in 1989 when Adam, Giles, and Linda Selby planted the seeds of a business driven by their shared passion for agriculture, ethical trading, and the natural beauty of Zimbabwe. Adam, an agricultural engineer, envisioned transforming the agricultural export sector in the country. Meanwhile, Linda ensured meticulous attention to detail, while Giles contributed his expertise and enthusiasm for exploring new markets.

From these modest beginnings, the Selby team persevered through the challenging seasons of Zimbabwe's evolving landscape and the fluctuations of export markets. Over time, leadership has transitioned to Derek, Adam and Linda’s son, who now serves as Managing Director, skillfully blending family wisdom with a fresh vision for the future. Giles continues in his role as Marketing Director, while Adam and Linda focus their efforts on the daily operations and stewardship of the Estate.
